Your Guide - Caspar Hughes
The founder of DMB Holidays.
Caspar grew up on Dartmoor, before moving to London to become a rock star. Finding this a rather tiresome profession, what with the lifestyle of girls, booze and mandatory daytime jobs required to fund it, Caspar yearned for his bicycle. And his bicycle yearned for him.
Developing a love of cycling whilst working as a bicycle messenger for six years at Europe's leading photographic lab, Metro Imaging, Caspar regularly covered 160k (100 miles) daily on the mean streets of London. A return to the open spaces of Dartmoor has always been on the cards for Caspar, he has the local knowledge and bicycling experience to lead groups safely over the moor, and considers passage through the British Army firing range on Yes Tor, child's play.
Caspar has recently been involved in racing and organising the Rollapaluza series, which he won in 2005.
Enjoying all forms of cycling, Caspar has trained and raced at Herne Hill Track, Eastway road circuit and Beastway MTB series in London and has covered many hundreds of kilometres over Dartmoor.
